On October 8, Orting School District posted “Bond Update #2: Meet the Team” to its YouTube channel. The video runs about five minutes. It is the second in a series about the projects paid for by the $137.2 million bond voters passed in November 2025. The first video, “Moving Vision to Planning,” came out in June.
The bond pays for three main projects: replacing Orting Elementary School, adding a career and technical education (CTE) wing at Orting High School, and remodeling two high school classrooms into agriculture spaces. In April 2026 the School Board picked Skanska as the projects' GC/CM, short for “general contractor/construction manager.” Under this approach, the builder joins the team during design, not after it.
The district's construction page collects the bond videos, the board presentations and the Bond Oversight Committee's materials. The committee is a citizen advisory group that tracks whether bond money is spent as promised.
