The City of Orting has adjusted the schedule for its Public Works Organizational Assessment, a consultant study of how the city's Public Works Department is organized and run.
The city put out a request for proposals (RFP), a formal invitation for qualified firms to bid on the work, in early August. Proposals were originally due Sept. 4. According to the Sept. 25 notice, the city now expects to announce the contract award on or before Oct. 31, 2026.
The August city newsletter introduced the department's new director.
