Pierce County released details of the November 3, 2026 general election on September 21. Ballots differ by address. Here is what most Orting voters can expect to see:
- Congress: U.S. Representative
- 31st Legislative District: State Senator (Phil Fortunato vs. Tamara Stramel), State Rep. Position 1 (Drew Stokesbary vs. Stephen Szczurko-Walton), and State Rep. Position 2 (Joshua Penner vs. John Bielka)
- Pierce County Council District 1, the district that includes Orting: Jerome O'Leary (prefers Republican Party) vs. Kelsey Barrans (prefers Democratic Party)
- Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney: Coreen Schnepf vs. Bryan Chushcoff
- Pierce County Auditor: Linda Farmer (incumbent) vs. Damon Townsend. The auditor runs county elections.
- Judges: state Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Pierce County District Court seats
- Three statewide initiatives: IP26-645, IL26-001 and IL26-638
- Seven proposed Pierce County charter amendments (Nos. 52–58). One of them would make the sheriff an appointed position instead of an elected one.
This year there are no City of Orting, Orting School District or Central Pierce Fire & Rescue measures on the county's list of local measures. Pierce Transit's Proposition 1, a 0.3% sales tax increase for bus service, is on the ballot only inside Pierce Transit's service area. The City of Orting has been outside that area since 2012.
The county's local voters' pamphlet has candidate statements and the full text of each charter amendment. Statewide races and initiatives are covered in the separate state pamphlet.
