Kansas Street work brings lane closures through early October

Construction on Kansas Street continued through the past month, with several traffic notices from the City of Orting.
- Sept. 15–17: stormwater catch basins (street drains) were installed at Calistoga St. W and Kansas St.
- Oct. 5–6: contractors were scheduled to grade and pour curb on the north and south sides of Kansas St. at Harman Way.
During the curb work, the city said drivers should expect delays and one-lane, alternating traffic. The work is part of the city's Kansas Street reconstruction and stormwater upgrades, which the city has been posting traffic updates about since summer.
