Developers had until Oct. 2 to pitch ideas for Old City Hall site

The City of Orting is gathering ideas for the future of the former Old City Hall property at 110 Train St. SE, downtown. The city owns the property outright and says it has not selected a redevelopment plan.
Instead of a full bid, the city issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI): an early-stage invitation for developers to describe what they might build and how. On Sept. 25 the city issued Addendum 1, which clarifies the request based on questions from interested firms.
Responses were due Oct. 2, 2026, at 4 p.m. No decision on the site has been announced. Any actual sale or development would come back through the City Council in public meetings.
